Exactly why I wondered about local storage of the file. Roaming Profiles
are, in my experience, very problematic for the reasons you cite.

I wouldn't be surprised if the problem was that when you logged in, the
roaming profile couldn't (or hadn't) copied the data from the central
profile store on the domain server to the local My Documents area. It may
have left a a file which looked like the Money file (was set to the correct
length and name), but didn't have all of the data in it. With the roaming
profile turned on, it wants to check that the network and local versions are
the same.

Because roaming profiles can be asynchronous, the data may have been copied
across between the time you mentioned the problem and the problem being
solved.

If the network is slow, and the Money file large, then this could happen,
or, I suppose during the login in question, there was some corruption in the
Money file which didn't allow you to start the data file up properly.

The money file is stored on the local computers hard drive, C:\Money

This problem magically fixed itself, a day or 2 after I started
troubleshooting it, I was informed that it's no longer a problem.. No idea
what fixed it..

Thanks for the response.. If someone knows the answer to this, I'd still
like to know

Thanks!

I have no clue--and probably not 0.01% of the Money user population even
knows what a Roaming Profile is, much less uses one with Money) but I wonder
this: where are you storing the file? In the roaming profile (i.e., Profile
User\My documents\...)? In some, say, mapped network drive used by the
profile? I.e., is the file getting copied hither and yon as part of the
profile synchronization? Does it make a difference?
