| After creating a brand new Money file, the process worked fine for about a month. After that, it started not working again. When downloading transactions, most of the time, they are not matched with the exact transaction in the registry, but instead to the next months transaction in the bills. My workaround now is to stop using the bills portion except for the big $ amounts. Rather than move accept transactions from the bills and moving them to the registry, I just download them from my bank and accept them from there. The downside of course, is I can't predict future cash flow as well, since they are not entered downloaded into the registry AFTER they have occurred. I find the reports lacking as well. Come 2008, I will strongly consider switching to Quicken. Joe |

| For what it's worth, I have the same problem since I upgraded from M2004 to M2006. It periodically stops matching transactions, and there doesn't seem to be a repeatable solution. I've tried repairing the file, and sometimes that seems to correct the issue, but the solution does not stick. After working ok for several weeks, the problem popped up again today. Very frustrating. | I was finally able to get out from this problem. Since I had tried everything else, including deleting all bills, I decided to bite the bullet and create a new Money file. I was reluctant to do this, because I had all of my financials in there, and could run monthly budget statements, annual net worth statements, and so on. Anyways, I've added just the 5 main accounts I use, and I will slowly back enter balances to other accounts. Since the file is new & small, performance is much better, and some other features are now available that I wasn't aware of before. Good luck with your issues... Joe |

Then delete the bills on the copy, to see if the performance increase is sufficient to make the change. Here is a description of the feature and some suggestions on getting your bills set up anew: File-> Repair-> RemoveAllBillsData This Remove All Bills Data feature would be for people who have experienced their Money file to run excessively slow. To get some information within the program, File-> Repair-> RemoveAllBillsData Read the information. Then click cancel. Before proceeding, make an extra copy or backup of your file in case you want to undo something. The problem will be that if you remove all bills, you will probably want to add at least some of your bills back. This can be done manually with the aid of the reports that you print out before removing the bills. A technique that could help simplify re-entering your bills afterward would be to go your register and selecting a representative instance of your past bill and selecting "Make Recurring" (Ctrl+E). This would be especially helpful if the bill is complex, such as involving a split. |

| Well, I'm having the same problem again!! The program work perfect for about a week, when I downloaded maybe 3 times or so. Now, it's back to goofed up again. NONE of the downloaded transactions are matched correctly. The ones that are matched are pulled from the BILLS, so if they are for the correct vendor they are for a future payment instead of the one in the REGISTER. NONE of the items in the register are matched, and when I CHANGE the transaction, only the items in the BILLS are shown as possible options. Cleanup is manual - I have to unmatch the transaction, and then delete the duplicate transaction Joe "Keli'i Martin" wrote: - quote - > I have upgraded from Money 2004 to Money 2007. | Cool, I'll try that. I ran repair on my Money file, so now I just need to wait for a transaction to be downloaded to see what happens. Hopefully this resolves my problem. I was kind of hopeful when I saw that Money needed an update this morning but was disappointed when my downloaded transactions still were not matching up correctly. I'll post back here with an update. Thanks for the info! Joe Sommers wrote: - quote - > OK, I got a little farther here. | OK, I got a little farther here. I ran repair on the Money file again, and now when I change the transaction, I see the transactions for BOTH the BILLS and the REGISTER. So I can manually match them up. We'll see if the automatic matching works next. Good luck. I had to repair the file twice before it took. That's really the only reason I even picked up Money 07 in the first place, and now that functionality doesn't work right anymore. |

| I'm having the same problem. I used to use Money 2003, and I upgraded to Money 2007 about a month ago. The problem is that the program is trying to match up with transactions in the BILLS instead of transactions in the REGISTER. As such, an exact match with date / payee / amount is not found, AND you cannot match it manually either. I have repaired the money database, uninstalled and re-installed manually. Still the same problem. I'm quite sure this is a bug, which Microsoft will have to fix. Joe Sommers |

| I have upgraded from Money 2004 to Money 2007. I am having a very annoying problem when I download transactions from my bank. In 2004, whenever I downloaded transactions, they would be automatically matched up with transactions I had already entered into my register. Then I was given the option to accept this downloaded transaction or change it. The problem I'm having is two fold. First, the downloaded transactions never match up with one that I have already entered into the register manually. The times that it does match up with a transaction, it does so with some future transaction that has not even occurred yet, and ones which I have not entered in manually. Second, when I try to Change the transaction to match with one that I have manually entered, I am only given a list of FUTURE transactions, as one would see if they were looking at the Bills page. This is VERY frustrating for me, because now whenever Money downloads my transactions, it is entering duplicates of transactions I have already entered manually. Is anyone else seeing this problem, and does anyone know how to resolve it?? |
