It is not trivial, but not as hard as it first appears. First, if you are downloading transactions for one of the versions, make it easy on yourself by making the one that downloads the *right* investment, and plan to get rid of the other one which we will call the *wrong* investment. In the details for the *wrong* investment, remove the existing symbol, and rename the existing investment to something you will never use. Let's suppose you choose zzzz. Goto investment zzzz and choose InvestmentActivities. Enter a fake new Buy dated before all other transactions with quantity more than the total of other transactions. Change each non-fake transaction to the fund using the drop-down list. Start with the oldest transaction. Keep going until there are no more zzzz transactions remaining except the fake transaction. Delete the fake Buy transaction. At that point you can "delete" zzzz. - quote - > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, longleggedy wrote: > > > > Occasionally, for a variety of reasons, I end up with two different sets of > > > stock name and symbol for different transactions for the same stock. If you are using Money 2007, there is a feature you could try.> stock name and symbol for different transactions for the same stock. (One > cause, for example, is the excercise of equity options, which automatically > names the underlying shares with the option name.) Short of deleting and > revising each transaction for one of the stocks, is there a way to merge the > two by editing one set to make it conform to the other set - in a single step? If not, there is a place that has all of the transactions for a stock listed together, and it is generally pretty easy to change even dozens of transactions one at a time. |
