| I'll update my own entry. Today's Office Depot Sunday insert lists Premium Federal + State for $30, plus a $15 Office Depot gift card by mail, plus a free ream of paper after rebate plus CA Internet Security Suite 2007 free after rebate. I don't know if that's a new or upgrade price. The net price is cheaper if you want to jump through the hoops. It's also a better deal if you have use for the state return. Personally, I have no interest in either the state return or the security software, and am not very good at returning rebates. I'll probably go to Office Max. | Being tax season, many of us are looking for the best price on our preferred tax software. I use Taxcut and used to use the 'Deluxe' version. It looks like there is no longer a 'Deluxe' version but only 'Premier' which used to be Deluxe + bundled services (sound like Money?). From the descriptions I've read, it doesn't necessarily include a free e-File, despite the Sunday ad pictures showing that version. Anyway, the best deal I've seen so far is TaxCut Premium Federal at OfficeMax for $20. That does not include eFile (~$15) nor state returns (I don't need one in Florida). Bottom line is preparing and eFiling my taxes this year will cost me $35. Can anyone else find a better deal that's readily available? TurboTax users, feel free to reply for the benefit of others. Thanks in advance. |
