Thanks for the warning. Sorry to read how poorly archiving has been
implimented by Microsoft. Hopefully it will work out okay in this case. Those
earlier years were causing me problems anyway (incorrect balance, missing
transactions) and they contain very little information of interest to me.

A small window of escape is still available since I have pre-archive backups
and have not yet entered or posted any new transactions.

Before you get too enamored of an archived file please read some of the FAQs
around this one.

I do not respond to any emails that I have not specifically asked for.

Default Conversion from 2002 to 2007 Worked!?

I just had the astonishingly positive experience of converting my Money 2002
file to 2007 in seconds with no errors! The accounts, bills and transactions
seem to be intact so far. I didn't think you could convert directly from 2002
to 2007.

It's especially amazing considering a conversion attempt failed two years
ago when I tried to upgrade from Money 2002 to 2005. (From what I hear about
2005 it's fortunate for me that it did fail.) My best guess is this
turnaround is attributable to recently archiving years 1996-2003.

Nice to report something positive for a change. BTW, I did this MNY file
conversion using Money 2007 Deluxe trial download on a different computer
from where 2002 is still running (until I'm finished testing/evaluating).
