There is a way to export transactions from the current file to QIF
files, prune the older transactions from QIF files with a text
editor, and to File-> Import the QIF files.

That may or may not be of interest to you. If you try it, maintain
backups/copies do that you could undo any undesirable results.

Some coloring outside the lines can work well, but your analogy is
generally good.

Default Accidentally deleted customer information 2004 H&B

I have been using Money 2004 Home and Business for about three years now -
recently while attempting to archive my huge data file, I didn't realize I
had somehow deleted many of my customer information records that you can
normally see in the invoices window. If I go back to a "backup copy" of the
file from a few months ago, that information is still there - but in the
meantime I have continued to put new data in the newer version of the file
that is missing all of these contacts and statement history transactions for
.... there has to be a way to "export" this from the backup file and "import"
it back into the current file ... doesn't there? This MSMoney sure is nice
when it works, but doesn't seem very friendly when you "color outside of the
lines" with it...
