| Take the floppy and a blank thumb drive to another machine. There is something screwy with the one you were trying it with. There is nothing about a filename that will prevent a copy from occuring. | I'm not sure what role a file extension plays in preventing copying a file. Once you get past that point, yah, there are lots of potential issues related to actually using the file, but it sounds like you are not getting even there.
