Is there any way to get rid of the junk on the screen?

I've been using Money 2001 since it came out. I've tried many of the
upgrades, but I haven't changed because of more and more junk on the
screen.

For example, with Money 2001, when I look at my portfolio on the screen,
it's 6" high and 10"wide. Even with that, I'd prefer to see more of the
portfolio, and less of the toolbars and whatnot. But with each update,
Microsoft has added more and more junk to the screen until now, with
Money 2006, my portfolio is 2.75" high and 9 1/8" wide.

My measurements are below, where the first column is a count, the second
column is height in inches, and the third column is a try at the name of
the item. "*** The Portfolio" is the one I want to see.

I keep thinking that maybe next year, Microsoft will get the "bloat"
message, and take some of this dumb stuff away. Isn't it a no-brainer
that you don't need ¾" across the screen to say that the quotes are
delayed 20 minutes? Maybe next year they'll fix it. But no, next year
they add more junk.

I'd stay with Money 2001, but it seems to be loosing functionality as
Microsoft encourages upgrades. I could change my screen resolution, but
then I wouldn't be able to see it as well. (My eyesight isn't as good as
it used to be.) Yes, I could buy a bigger monitor.

I've looked around the Money 2006 menus trying to find ways to get rid of
junk, but as far as I can tell, I've minimalized everything. Any
suggestions?
