Default Re: How can I change a greyed out transaction?

Are you saying that it incorrectly matched this transaction?
Have you already "accepted" the transaction? If not, then the
procedure is to click the "change" button, and tell it not to match
this transaction. You will end up with a fully editable transaction.

I've had this happen to me before, where money thinks a transaction
d/l matches something in the Bills & Deposits. If the Bill it thinks
it needs to match is an "Epay" bill, then this is what happens.
I've even had it where money all the sudden says, "There are pending
bills to be paid" (or something like that).

The *only* solution that I know of is to click the "change" button
before I "accept" the transaction. If you've already accepted it,
then I think you're going to have to go to a backup. You might
also check with your billpay provider to make sure that you didn't
actually submit a bill pay to that payee.

I personally think that Money should *NOT* match transactions
from Bills & Deposits. But if it's going to, it should *NOT*
match epay Bills.

On my payments made through a bill payer (Bank of America, which uses
CheckFree) I am able to change the category. I am surprised that you can
not change the category.

The only greyed out transactions that I've ever seen where bill
payments that I've made through my bill pay provider. And only
some of the fields are greyed out: Pay to, Date, Amount & Number.
The category, classification (if used) and memo fields are editable.

Can you give more details?
