Hi Gwen

http://www.bollar.org/msmoney/#Q29 is a good place to start. Read the next
question when you get there as well.

In addition to what is noted in the FAQ, it really doesn't do the job, that
"most" would expect it to.

Good Morning,

I am running M99. Ooops....I already archived my files.
Can you tell me why that is not a good idea? Aren't you
simply saving it to the hard drive? In other words - it's
not *gone*.

Thanks,

Hi Gwen

You didn't mention what version of money you were using, but if you are
using one of the newer version you should be able to continue the backup by
inserting disk2, disk 3 and etc. From reading in this newsgroup, I
understand that some of the older versions did not allowing spanning without
a downloadable patch.

Also if you have changed the name of your file, it does not write over the
previous backup, so you will manually have to delete the old one from the
disk.

Many of the most experienced users on this newsgroup are against archiving
and I agree with them. I would look at every other method available before
archiving.

That's something I could look into. I suppose having
roughly 6months *not* archived would be sufficient.

<<get one of the new usb pocket drive devices....16 meg

Pardon my ignorance, but, huh? I've been toying with
the idea of buying more memory - could that serve the same
purpose?

Cal:

*Very* interesting. I'd never used that, before (however,
in my own defense, I've not really used newsgroups,
before, either.

<<I tried with the info you gave but I did not find a

Super...I did just that and learned just how far behind
the times I actually am....back in March, someone asked
the question (using the exact phrase) and there were a few
responses, but, suddenly, someone else jumped into the
conversation and the rest of the responses were based on
backing up to CDs.

Embarrasingly enough, I could not even remember how to
format a floppy. I've learned and that worked well.
Thank you all.

Are you talking about backing up to a floppy disk here?

Have you tried reformatting the floppy? Not just a quick format but a full
one.

A way to find prior postings in this group is to use the Google
Usenet Groups archive.

http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search enter words that you
think would be in relevant posts into the "all of the words" box.
Enter microsoft.public.money into the newsgroup box. Consider
selecting Sort By Date.

I tried with the info you gave but I did not find a match. Perhaps
you could enter the exact error message into the "exact phrase" box.

Default Saving to Disk

I am attempting to save my Money backup to a new disk and
receive the message that there is not enough room on my
[unused] disk. I am certain that I have seen messages
regarding this, but, just can't track them right now - can
someone either point me in the direction of one of those
or tell me what to do?

Thanks!
Gwen
