| It's most likely that the company who is managing your 401k is converting your money into a money market fund with seperate ticker. For example: you contirbute $100 to your 401k. The company receives your $100 and converts it to a money market fund with a ticker such as FCASH (Fidelity) So what you have to do is this: When money is received by your 401k, do an investment transaction to buy 100 shares of the the money market fund. $1 is usually 1 share of the money market fund. d "Jeff W" wrote: - quote - > I set up my paycheck to automatically report 401k contributions into the > 401k account. > I set up 401 k account using 401k manager > Money never deducts the cash from the contribution list. | Also, you might want to look in the Sample data file to see how this is supposed to work. |

| Right. But what is in the Investment Transactions? Are there Investment Buy transactions? Do these Investment Buy transactions reflect the Cash Transactions account as the source of the money? Conversely, are the Investment Buys reflected, apparently not, in the Cash Transactions register? We are trying to confirm that you have Buy transactions. If you do, then these transactions need to specify where the cash is coming from. If/when they do, your issue will go away. One last attempt to put it another way. An Investment Buy transaction in the Investment register can omit where the cash comes from and the Buy will just happen as though the money fell from the sky. Or it can reflect the money coming from the cash register--and a corresponding transaction will show up in the Cash register. You MAY have the former case. You absolutely need the latter case to make your issue go away. | I set up my paycheck to automatically report 401k contributions into the 401k account. I set up 401 k account using 401k manager Money never deducts the cash from the contribution list. For example if I contribute $100 and then use that money to buy a fund. Money is reporting that I own the fund and still have $100 in cash. Anyone know what I didn't set up correctly? |
