Difference btwn Reconciled balance and account register

Try opening Money with Start-> Run and entering
"msmoney -s" without the quotes into the box.

I use Money 2002.
While reconciling my investment account last month, I
came across a difference between the balance in the
account register and the balance the reconciling screen
even though everthing had been cleared/reconciled.

The 2 balances within MS Money do not agree with one
another!

I put in an adjustment in the register but that changes
both balances.

Anyone know how to adjust one balance without effecting
the other?
