Do they issue a patch or > have to wait for 08 edition? > Thanks I have a few "Foreign Taxes" that, because of the way Fidelity characterizes them within OFX, do not get handled the way I would like by Money. Specifically, they are not associated with the underlying security. Fortunately, this occurs infrequently enough that manual editing is not an issue. --ron |

Patches are rarely more than once a year, a few months after the version> Do they issue a patch or have to wait for 08 edition? release. Even that doesn't always happen. |

You mentioned that you wondered if the issue you were having was a "knownMicrosoft problem". I wondered why you were attributing the problem to Microsoft, so asked if the TYPE of transaction you were concerned about was defined in the specification that is used when financial institutions communicate with each other. If it was not defined, then the problem is not a "Microsoft" problem, but rather a limitation of the language that computers use to communicate with each other. - quote - > It is another type of entry like "Brokers Fees" etc.
Again, if "Brokers Fees" is not defined in the communication protocol, it willnot be understood. If you figure out exactly what your broker is sending, you can then look to see how it is defined in the protocol that your broker is using (usually OFX, but there are various versions). If the phrase is defined in the specification, but not being interpreted properly by Microsoft Money, then it might be a problem that Microsoft can fix. On the other hand, if your broker is sending information that is not in accord with the specification, then the problem lies with your broker. You can find the specification by using Google to search for OFX Specification. The latest version is 2.1.1, but I don't know which version Money is using. --ron |
