Default Re: Questions about invoicing and matching downloaded transactions

I appreciate your concern, but I can handle that part of the process. I'm
asking for tips on how to use Money considering the fact that I am and will
continue to use PayPal.

thats why you dont accept paypal as a form of payment, money orders and
personal checks only and use USPS.com to ship with instead of paypal, you
will save alot of money in the long run! And you specify the items do not
ship until the payment CLEARS your bank.

Default RE: Questions about invoicing and matching downloaded transactions

argh! now i'm getting a little frustrated. I can't even add the PayPal fee
into the Invoices in Money because it doesn't give me any expense categories
when I try and create the new service.

I'd think that by version 2007 it would be a little more eBay/PayPal
friendly..???

Default RE: Questions about invoicing and matching downloaded transactions...?

On a similar note, I have another question. PayPal takes a fee, of course,
when payments are accepted through them. That fee is taken out immediately,
so the transaction amount that gets brought into Money is already less that
fee. However, the invoice that I create and add to the PayPal account won't
have this fee associated to it unless I create a service called PayPal fee
and include it as a negative balance on the invoice...which of course would
be pretty confusing to the buyer. Before I've started trying to create
invoices to track everything in Money I simply used the split feature to add
3 categories to each PayPal transaction: eBay Sale, Shipping Paid, and PayPal
Fee. PayPal fee was a negative value and it works just fine....at least with
the matching of downloaded transactions.

I did that with Shipping & Handling. I created a service that I then add to
the invoice so I could at least get the actual total the buyer is paying on
that invoice, but I can't think of how to wrap the fee in there. I tried
adding it the way it is and then spliting it the PayPal but it doesn't give
me the option.

Default Questions about invoicing and matching downloaded transactions...?

I'm trying to figure out how I can use MS Money H&B 2007 with my new small
business. I've always used Money for personal use and I like it a lot, so I
figured I'd give this a shot as well. I'm a little confused, though.

I use PayPal for the majority of my business' payment processing and I have
a PayPal account setup in My Money. I have PayPal setup with online services
so that it will download the transactions into Money for me.

So, lets say I've got a product added into My Money inventory and I create
an invoice for that product and select the PayPal account for the payment to
go to. I always ensure that the totals match, however, when I download
transactions they never match up like they should. So I always have to deal
with duplicate payments and continue deleting the downloading transactions
until a couple days later when they stop getting included.

The same thing happens with services that I invoice. I usually invoice
services and add the payments to my checking account. The same thing
happens. When I download transactions into my checking acct. it won't match
up the invoiced transactions and I have to keep deleting the downloaded one
until it stops coming in.

So my choices are to either stop using Money's invoicing system which
defeats the purpose of using Money at all because then it won't track my
profits and all that stuff. Or, keep hassling with deleting the duplicated
downloaded transactions.

Or best option...hopefully somebody here can tell me I'm being stupid and
clue me in on how to handle this..?? Any information would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!
