Before i got your response i did change my passport password. I then
uninstalled Money and re installed. Then i changed the password back again
after i read your post.

So after reinstall, when i try to open the file i get the "Money will
convert your file so that you can work with it in Money 2005" screen.
Clicking next brings up a window saying Money cannot locate the file, or
open the file as it is read only or i do not have permission.

Any ideas at all on this one?

I would rename the problem file to something reflecting the problem
status. I would then File-> Restore a backup. If the problem
persists, I would consider reinstalling Money *if* you have the
ability. You could also switch to Money 2007 Deluxe. With the trial,
you could confirm whether that stops the problem.

You could also try the steps in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/814144/en-us, tho those are
presumably for conditions that would produce error messages.

I don't find any specific references to your actual symptoms.

A strange thing has just started to occur. My MS Money 2005 file is
protected by a password. When i open the file i enter my email and then my
password. If working offline the password is blanked out when i click sign
in and the file does not open. If i work on line then MS Money tries to
connect when i click sign in then blanks out the password, leaving the file
unopened.

Does anyone have any idea about this. Or how to open the file and then I'll
remove the password?
