You might try restoring your recent backup to a different filename.> At one stage I had to enter my password and the repair utility seemed to > accept it ok. > I don't know if removing Money and re-installing it will cure the problem > because I'll still after to enter the password to restore the backed-up .mbf > file, backed up on a zip drive In other words, do not take the default location. Since Sample.mny worked, the problem may not be your installation. I don't know if you will run across problems trying to reinstall Money 2003 or not. Perhaps you could try that on a different computer first. |

Sorry. I missed that you were using Money 2003 (version 11).> settings > program settings from the Tools menu, just got the following > under Tools menu:- > Find & Replace > Calculator > Internet Updates > Disconnect (greyed out) > Access My Monet Data on the Web > Customise Expert Assistant > Connection Settings > Options You could try Tools-> Options-> General-> StartMoneyWithThisPageOpen:AccountList. However I don't expect that it will solve things for you, but I would make that change on the off chance. You might run salv.exe on your file or restore a backup file. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/902466/en-uk While you are thinking of it, make another copy of your latest backup file (.mbf) onto other media such as a USB flash drive. File-> Restore of your file (or open Money by double-clicking the backup file that you want to restore) might be the thing that save you. - quote - > Don't know if this makes any difference, but this is a UK version of Money
I doubt that makes the difference in this case.- quote - > redkite > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, redkite wrote: > > > > I can open money to the welcome screen but as soon as I type in my password & > > > hit return, although it briefly goes to the next screen, money then > > > immeadiately closes. Find sample.mny in your installation folder. Double-click the file> hit return, although it briefly goes to the next screen, money then > immeadiately closes. Using OEM edition ver11.0. > windows xp sp2. to launch Money. If that works, the problem would appear to not be the installation. Continue with this while running sample.mny: Tools-> Settings-> ProgramSettings and set the (GeneralDisplay StartMoneyWithThisPageOpen:Accoun tListOpen the problem file. If that succeeds, good. You may be able to fine and fix the problem. If you then click to go to the Home page and a crash occurs, here is one possibility for such a fix: In Tools-> Settings-> HomePageDisplayOptions Remove the Investment Performance module. Any progress? |

| I can open money to the welcome screen but as soon as I type in my password & hit return, although it briefly goes to the next screen, money then immeadiately closes. I've tried system restore to last point where money was used ok, no luck. Tried virus/spybot detection but problem still there. Tried restoring from back up but as soon as I type in the password it closes down again. Anyone any ideas what might be causing problem? Using OEM edition ver11.0. windows xp sp2. -- redkite |
