Stuck in "update in progress "

Microsoft had previously sent me an email stating it was an intermittent
problem with third party software. Was working the past few days, but then
again today it's not working once again.
Seems to me Microsoft should correct this issue. It's their program! If
they rely on third parties to make the downloads work then they should
consider new third parties or fix it themselves.

Same for me. Some banks update okay, others update inconsistently but do
update, despite message. Obviously it's a central problem which MS is
likely to be working on as you read this.

I am having the same problem. Just started today after working fine for many
months.
