OK. That eliminates my suspicion that you had set this up as a bond, which might have given different numbers. - quote - > I really do not know why I changed the symbol to

Is there no less cumbersome fix? that got fixed for me when I went to Money 2006. However I would right-click the security, and choose SeeInvestmentActivities. Delete any transactions that are not part of the real account. I don't know that this has any history of fixing the problem. I am probably trying to apply logic to an area where that does not apply. If you are in the US, you might consider upgrading to Money 2007. Otherwise GroupBy:Account until you upgrade. - quote - > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, Scott B. wrote: > > > > For Microsofts Money 2005 delux, shouldn't the 'Market Value' equal the 'Last > > > Price' times the 'Quantity' in the 'Valuation' view of the 'Portfolio > > > Manager', . | You could try the Money 2007 Trial version to see if that corrects the problem. http://www.microsoft.com/money/freetrial_deluxe.mspx It's been a while since I've thought of this issue. I think it has to do with when you originally set up the account having set an "estimated" amount prior to adding actual transaction and that "estimated" amount was probably $15071.18. A work-around in Money 2005 (after ensuring that you have updated to the 1105 version: Help - About) is to try moving all of the transactions into a NEW account (which won't have that estimated amount). In order to see the Estimated amount in the Account Details, there needs to be no transactions. If I remember correctly, an estimated amount in other accounts could impact the Market Value in different accounts. So you'll need to find out which account has that estimated amount (i.e. move all transactions out of it) and then zero out the estimate. -Mark "Scott B." <ScottB[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:AF310F52-58FB-4C38-8AAA-E73426FD14A2[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > The numbers are exact. | Did you recently covert your file to 2005 deluxe (before downloading the updates)? See the "market value is incorrect" item in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889246/en-us -Mark "Scott B." <ScottB[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5A7C213C-3418-4CBC-8CFC-BAD993A8A219[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > For Microsofts Money 2005 delux, shouldn't the 'Market Value' equal the > 'Last > Price' times the 'Quantity' in the 'Valuation' view of the 'Portfolio > Manager', . Are those the actual numbers you are seeing? You appear to have put> Price' times the 'Quantity' in the 'Valuation' view of the 'Portfolio > Manager', . For example, one line reads: "SYMBOL: ABC , CHART: [^], NAME: ABC > Technology Inc., LAST PRICE: 32.65, QUANTITY: 20.000, COST BASIS: 432.00, > MARKET VALUE: 15,724.18, INCOME: , PRICE APPRECIATION: 221.00" > As you can see, all of the calculations, except the "MARKET VALUE" are > correct. | For Microsofts Money 2005 delux, shouldn't the 'Market Value' equal the 'Last Price' times the 'Quantity' in the 'Valuation' view of the 'Portfolio Manager', . For example, one line reads: "SYMBOL: ABC , CHART: [^], NAME: ABC Technology Inc., LAST PRICE: 32.65, QUANTITY: 20.000, COST BASIS: 432.00, MARKET VALUE: 15,724.18, INCOME: , PRICE APPRECIATION: 221.00" As you can see, all of the calculations, except the "MARKET VALUE" are correct. Even the PRICE APPRECIATION which depends on the value of the "MARKET VALUE" is correct, but the MARKET VALUE value itself is way off! As it turns out, every single value in this column is off by exactly 15,071.18 which is the 'MARKET VALUE' value assigned to line items which have zero QUANTITY. I have performed both Quick and Standard File Repairs but the anomaly remains. Any suggestions? Thanks. |
