That is, if I can find the > install disk. Do you concur?? already. Step 2 is to open Sample.mny or to create a new file (select Decline in the process) to see how that behaves. If step 2 has the same symptom, reinstall Money. If Step 2 did not show that symptom, Do a File-> Repair-> StandardFileRepair on your file. Guess you tried that already also. Perhaps you could try level 1 this time. If still no joy, consider trying the Money 2007 Deluxe trial. Make a copy of your Money 2005 file with a new name, and let Money 2007 convert that. If you can't fix it, then consider QIF export and import to a new file. Or just do QIF export from that one account, delete the account, and re-create the account. File-> Import the QIF, or perhaps you will get most of what you need from just downloading from the bank. Also, if you have a backup that pre-dates the problem that would not take a lot of catch-up, you could consider File-> Restore. Since Money 2005 does not make multiple backups as Money 2007 does, it is unlikely you will have a suitable backup file to consider that. |

I believe you are referring to the repair options under "File" and the menu and the standard repair (or salvage) options. Nothing changed. If you mean something else, let me know. |

Is 2005 more buggy than other versions or am I just unlucky? Any suggestions as to what to do would be greatly appreciated!! |

To be sure I immediately added another deposit of a lesser amount and the result was the same ie the balance duplicated the new amount. Obviously something is clearly wrong with my program. I closed Money and reopened it. The balances are different, but still very messed up. It added to the balance after the first test deposit by $50 when the amount was just under $2,000. Yes. It indicates that what I thought might be the problem was not> correspondingly. > I hope this is clear. the problem. You might check to see if the same thing happens for a test deposit that you enter my hand. I am not sure what it would indicate, and perhaps you have already done that with the same effect. |

The account is set up as a bank account as far as I can tell. I believe the account is listed under the "Bank Accounts" group. Money is displaying my balances in RED because they are negative. They are negative because my deposits are being subtracted. In other words, when a deposit (which is in black numbers) shows up on an entry the next balance line shows an increase in the negative (red) number under the balance column. When an expense is recorded, it reduces the negative (red) balance correspondingly. I hope this is clear. |

| I'm using Money2005. Hadn't used it in a while due to log on errors with my bank. That's now resolved. However, the math seems to have reversed. My deposits are subtracted from the balances and the expenses are added to the balance. If I reverse the sign for a deposit, Money changes it to an expense and then adds it to the balance. The same in reverse if I do this with an expense. I tried the quick and standard file repairs with no effect. Any ideas???? |
