OK. You could spend a tedious hour changing them. With a text editor that can do a global replace, change all of the names from that of fund A to that of fund B. In a COPY of your file, delete the account. Re-create the empty account. File-> Import that modified QIF file as a "recovered account", into the new empty account. Deal with any associated cash account issues. If you like the result, good. If not, go back to your other copy. - quote - > "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message > news:f615m2heqqk6gfesik2carc94uthkg7v0d[at]4ax.com... > > In microsoft.public.money, Dennis wrote: > > > > I have three different accounts. | There are 2 buys a month for last last 5 years. The problem is in one account their is a fund called US Small Stock in another fund (from another company), there is a fund called US Small Stock...there is no ticker associated with them, and they are different funds with different prices. I finally discovered it. No. Depending on how many transactions, it may be easy enough to> labeled "Small Money Market" During the past several years, I have been > purchasing shares of "Small Money Market" in two of the accounts. In one of > the Accounts, I would like to rename "Small Money Market" to "Small Money > Market/SB" because the fund really is different. > I can where I can do a global rename, but can I rename a fund in just one > account? change each transaction. If there are hundreds, check back for another idea. Is it really a different investment? If so, it should have a different symbol, or no symbol. To facilitate the change, create a big AddShares for "Small Money Market" that pre-dates other transactions into the *wrong* account. Go to the "Small Money Market" investment (you could right-click that fake transaction you just entered), and choose InvesmentTransactions. You should see a list of transactions. Double-click each transaction for the *wrong* account, and change the Investment to "Small MoneyMarket/SB". If you have defined it already, choose it from the drop-down list. If not, type it in ONCE, and thereafter use the drop-down list. Start with the oldest, but leave the fake transaction for last. Once all have been processed, you can delete the fake transaction. Make an extra copy/backup of your file first so you can undo the changes if you like. |

| I have three different accounts. In each of the accounts I have a fund labeled "Small Money Market" During the past several years, I have been purchasing shares of "Small Money Market" in two of the accounts. In one of the Accounts, I would like to rename "Small Money Market" to "Small Money Market/SB" because the fund really is different. I can where I can do a global rename, but can I rename a fund in just one account? |
