| Some friends and I started a Yahoo group devoted to maximizing our TSP returns. It's free to join and no one is making money from the group except whatever we make in our own TSP accounts. Besides discussing TSP investment strategies, the group also tracks our members' allocations on a monthly basis. We've been obtaining some very excellent returns, generally exceeding those of even the paid services. If you'd like to check us out, we're at:[http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TSP_Strategy/] Thanks and much success with your TSP...S http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/TSP_Strategy/ FrankV wrote: - quote - > I don't think there is any way of directly using the TSP. | I don't think there is any way of directly using the TSP. My TSP is 100% C fund and I use WFSPX (Barclays Global Investors S&P 500) as a substitute. The price for this moves almost exactly the same as the TSP. I checked it's price originally and calculate how many shares made it equivalent to my TSP value. Then I entered it in Money and now follow the WFSPX price. I check the TSP quarterly just to make sure it still agrees with WFSPX. | I blanked out the symbols and then hit update and it override the price again. On the MSN Money webpage it was able to update daily with the correct total but I am guessing it just was putting the total in the account and not total by fund. The TSP plan is fed govt plan and I don't believe it has real symbols that can be looked up in money. I guess for now will disable online service. | I just upgraded to Money2007 version from 2004 and previously did not have TSP plan update in the software was only setup on msn website. When I setup in 2007 version it transferred in my shares and setup investments names but it keeps putting the price as $0. I deleted the last price update but everytime I log in it changes it back to $0 thus putting my investment dollars at $0. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there something I need to change on the investment names? |
