Found thought to look there, because everything I read before this said to download the repair installer. Although the salvageability of my file remains to be seen, at least the tool now starts to execute. Thanks for your help. |

A friend might let you do this. You could try keeping your Moneyfile and the attempted fixed file on a USB flash drives. The other thing would be to run the version of salv.exe that is in your Money install disk. The newer one might know new tricks, but the older one would run on Win 98ME. |

| Environment: WinME Money Version: 2002 Deluxe I have downloaded M06-Repair.EXE and unpacked it per instructions. When I double-click on SALV.EXE, absolutely nothing happens ... no prompts, no messages, not even an hourglass cursor ... zip ... nada ... zilch. I was looking forward to using it, since the quick repair "-s" failed with the standard crazy "this isn't a money file, or it is corrupt" message. I know the file is corrupt in some way, because every time it tries to compress the money file, it freezes completely; only the 3-finger salute gets me going again. This wouldn't be too bad, except I have no way to stop the compress function, or to reorganize the "database" by hand. |
