Oops. You didMy error. There is not a version update as such for Money 2006. It probably just wants to update the financial institution list etc. So what I might try includes these: In IE6, I would go to Tools-> InternetOptions-> Security-> TrustedSites-> Sites list uncheck "Require server verification... ". In the trusted list I would add these: moneycentral.msn.com fdl.microsoft.com passport.com passport.net login.live.com g.msn.com money:// Check that the SSL2 protocol is enabled. That checkbox may Tools-> InternetOptions-> Advanced. Now that may not do it for you. I don't want to suggest a parallel procedure to you. However to see that folder, try a command window. cd "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2006" dir /a attrib MNYCoreFiles I don't want to describe or suggest things further at this point. If it messed things up, .... |

Not sure what that means - it looks to me as if it now only shows some ofthe files in the directory... - quote - > 7. Delete the MNYCoreFiles folder
Can't see a folder of this name; all I have are the foldersinvoice WebCache and a bunch of files (market.mar, market32.mar, surf.mar, surf32.mar, themedef.mar, themedef32.mar, toolbar.xml) - and that's it. - quote - > 8. Close the window.
It sounds like you are talking about Money2007 - mine is version 15.0.6.513> 9. Open Money. (Money 2006) Thanks for your help - any pointers for M2006? /D |

Show hidden files and hidden system files. 3. Open the Microsoft Money 2007 installation folder. The default location is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2007. 4. Open the MNYCoreFiles folder. 5. Click Compatibility Files at the top of the screen. 6. This will open the Virtual Store. 7. Delete the MNYCoreFiles folder 8. Close the window. 9. Open Money. | I bought M2006 online/download a while ago. Under Vista RC2, when I install the webinstall package and log in with my passport credentials it tells me that it needs to download more software (basically it upgrades from the Trial version to the full version). When I click OK it tells me: "Your Money software requires an update. Before you can install the update, you need to close Money, log on to Windows as a member of the Administrators group and then restart Money" The account I am using is a member of the Administrator group - and it's the only one on this machine. Any idea how I can convince Vista that Money is allowed to upgrade itself? Thanks /D |
