| If you have 06 and its working do not disable it or you will loose it and ahve to upgrade to 2007 you can enter payments into the register but I suggest doing it on the Bills section and on the left hand side click Make a one time payment or transfer Steve "Garry" <Eli1962[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1162916691.090844.234990[at]m7g2000cwm.googlegroups.com... - quote - > I'm currently using Money 06, and it does require passport for MSN > Billpay. > With Money 07, can I enter epay transactions directly in the check > register, or do I still have to go to the Billpay website, and wait for > it to clear before it shows in the check register? | I'm currently using Money 06, and it does require passport for MSN Billpay. With Money 07, can I enter epay transactions directly in the check register, or do I still have to go to the Billpay website, and wait for it to clear before it shows in the check register? If I have to do that, I might as well use the bank's website directly -- same functionality for free. One of the advantages of epay is that you can write checks to drop in the future, but that makes it all the more important to be able to see at a glance where the balance will be at any point over the next month or so. |

| Money receives your payments in two ways when you enter these into MSN Billpay it goes into the Billpay register then when the bank clears it it goes in your regular account register Jus remember MSN Billpay is Checkfree Checkfree bought MSN BillPay around november two years ago "Garry" <Eli1962[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1162875613.398503.7730[at]i42g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > That's interesting, because Checkfree told me several years ago they > were no longer going to support Money -- otherwise I'd have kept on > using them. | What happened is in money 06 and earlier MSN bill pay was setup with the MS passport i money 2007 MS changed this so you can connect directly to them without the passport all you have to do is download 2007 and setup MSN Bill pay or check free with the 25 or so digit subscriber ID you get from calling them the password is the same as you use on the website. In step form Step1: Download or buy Money 2007 Step2: Call MSN BillPay(CheckFree) and ask for your subscriber ID Step3: In money go File> New> New Account and chose Bill Payment providers Step4: Choose MSN BillPay Or Check Free type in the user name and pass and it will connect no problems Just remember for MSN Billpay is must be the subscriber ID and the password used on the website Steve "Garry" <Eli1962[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1162875613.398503.7730[at]i42g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... - quote - > That's interesting, because Checkfree told me several years ago they > were no longer going to support Money -- otherwise I'd have kept on > using them. | That's interesting, because Checkfree told me several years ago they were no longer going to support Money -- otherwise I'd have kept on using them. Maybe they fired some customers but not others? I know that MSN Billpay now works through Checkfree, and I'm trying to figure out how it works with Money. If it'll do what I want, I'm happy to use it. But so far, it doesn't seem to. As far as I can tell, Money will take me to Billpay to make payments, but not let me enter those payments directly in the account register, and I don't yet understand when/how a payment made through Billpay would show up in the check register. The option is there; and it automagically kept it when I upgr^H^H^H^Hchanged from 03 to 07. I think you do something like, from the account: Change Account Settings Online Setup (down near the bottom of the screen) Select the Bank Manage Online Services This will list your bank but also have a category of Online Bill Payment Providers. Select that and mine shows Checkfree (existing users only) and MSN Bill Pay. You may need to contact CheckFree by phone if you haven't used them for a while, but you should be able to get things set up. When they ask for your "number", try your SSN. --ron |

| M07 supports Checkfree ("MSN Billpay") from within Money. M06 supported it for existing accounts, but not new accounts. That was corrected in M07. Even if you enter bills directly in MSN Billpay in Money, you'll have duplicate accounts of sorts, in Money, if you download data from CitiBank. If your primary bank account were not online enabled, you could merge the MSN Billpay account to your real bank account. It would then be a consolidated account. But I don't think you can merge two different online-enabled accounts. Hence the duplication. If direct bill pay is that important to you, consider a different bank. I've used Wachovia for years and am happy. I have very little direct interaction with the bank. It's all direct deposit, direct debit, and online billpay through Money. Customer support over the phone is everything I've needed, and it's fine. They have a large ATM presence in the southeast, and it's free at the balance levels I'm willing to maintain there. You probably have different criteria for selecting a bank. I also have a NetBank MM account. They support direct billpay, but I cannot speak well of their support or services. It works adequately for my needs, which is simply letting my cash sit there. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL "Garry" <Eli1962[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1162797490.953358.212360[at]f16g2000cwb.googlegroups.com... - quote - > Thanks for the response. > I can download transactions either directly (using Money's update > feature) or with OFX download from Citibank. | Accually check free his compatible with Money 2007 and citibank uses the third party updater which means Money cannot pay bills threw citibank directly and thats why it wants to use MSN Billpay which is now Checkfree Steve "Garry" <Eli1962[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1162779954.840328.203550[at]h54g2000cwb.googlegroups.com... - quote - > I've opened a new checking account with Citibank, and the on-line > features there seem to be working fine, except I can't find a way to > get pending payments to download until they've cleared at the bank. > I'd like to be able to use epay directly from Money 2006 through > Citibank, but I can't figure out how to get around Money's seeming > insistence that I use MSN Bill Pay. > Is there a way to do this? |

Yes there is. But it depends on what services your bank offers.> register, and upload it so that it gets paid via epay. ... > So I'd like something seamless where I only have enter stuff once in > Money. Isn't there some way to do that? My bank (Wachovia) offers bill pay through Money's Direct Services. What you need to do is find a bank at the following link that offers direct bill pay services. http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx When you click on the bank, it needs to say the following under "additional services": You can also use this bank's bill payment service from within Microsoft Money With my bank, the bill pay services are free. A nice benefit over using MSN Bill Pay. Good luck. |

| Thanks for the response. I can download transactions either directly (using Money's update feature) or with OFX download from Citibank. But it downloads only cleared transactions, not pending ones. What I want to do is simple: enter a payment into the Money check register, and upload it so that it gets paid via epay. Fifteen years ago, I was able to do this in a world of DOS and dialup using Managing Your Money and Checkfree. After MYM faltered, I found I could do the same thing with Money and Checkfree. But then Money and Checkfree parted company, and I've never been able to do it since. In recent years, I've used Paytrust, but I have to enter the transactions on Paytrust's website. It lets me download pending transactions, but it's sometimes erratic about which transactions it downloads, and QIF downloads aren't always trouble-free. So I'd like something seamless where I only have enter stuff once in Money. Isn't there some way to do that? | Go here: http://www.microsoft.com/money/bankonline.aspx and look for Citibank. The link I found there refers to Citibank Online supporting 'Direct Services'. That means you can connect direct from Money to the bank's servers. That may be for download only. If you setup online services within Money for Citibank, what services> Citibank, but I can't figure out how to get around Money's seeming > insistence that I use MSN Bill Pay. does it offer? If Bill Pay is not one of them then you're out of luck! In addition, I'm not sure whether you'd be able to use MSN Bill Pay within Money 2006. There was a change in the MSN service in 2005 that precluded new M06 sign-ups until an upgrade to M07. Regards, JB |

| I've opened a new checking account with Citibank, and the on-line features there seem to be working fine, except I can't find a way to get pending payments to download until they've cleared at the bank. I'd like to be able to use epay directly from Money 2006 through Citibank, but I can't figure out how to get around Money's seeming insistence that I use MSN Bill Pay. Is there a way to do this? |
