| I'm not sure the situation was all that different in fall of 2003 when M04 was released. They're just being explicit about what was implicit. | I have been using Money 2004 in much the same way as you. Maintaining checking and savings accounts, tracking loans and investments, but doing it all manually...not downloading information or making online payments, etc. I recently upgraded to Money 2006 (it came preinstalled on a new system), and it is okay, but I would not pay for an upgrade. The "improvements" in Money after the 2004 versions seem to be aimed at online functions, including storing information on their servers. You don't have to use these services, but it makes upgrading questionable in my opinion. Sooner or later Microsoft will stop supporting Money 2004, but since you don't use the online functions this may not affect you. Try Money 2004...I think you will like it. | You wont be able to go from Money 98 into anything above 2004 directly for 05,06,07 you have to install the trial version of 2004 which will only cause another step and if you live in the uk you cant receive this trial so I suggest gettin Money 2004 Steve "ttodd0450" <ttodd0450[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B23531FC-530B-46B5-84EB-2029318A4065[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Ok.., I have been using Money 98 since I bought my first PC with Windows > 95 > back in 1997. | M2005 is the latest UK version. There wasn't a M2006UK and it certainly doesn't look like there will be a M2007UK. Beyond that who knows. MS certainly don't! -- Regards Bob Peel, Microsoft MVP - Money For UK tips & fixes see http://support.microsoft.com/default...d=fh;EN-GB;mny. | The 03/04/05 years had some bad years among them, with respect to performance, but I don't recall now which was better. By your use of the word cheque, where in the world are you? If in the UK, is 2004 the latest year available to you? I'm happy with 07. If versions later than 04 are available to you, why not upgrade to the most recent? | Ok.., I have been using Money 98 since I bought my first PC with Windows 95 back in 1997. Over the years I have upgraded my O/S all the way thru to my current XP Home Ed. Always kept money 98., as I ONLY use it for a cheque book for balances and forecasts. I DO NOT download my Banking info to the program. I have always manually typed in the information everyday and am happy to do that. BUT I have also seen some minor problems where I want to do a chart graph and the dates won’t go any higher than the year 2000., It's frustrating, especially sine the cheque book part can always keep up to today’s date. I was thinking of buying Money 2006 to upgrade my Money 98, and continue to use it ONLY as a chequebook. Would I be better off to use Money 2004 instead of Money 2006, or should I just keep with my Money 98 ???????? -- please reply |
