| I have been trying to buy an Australian copy of MS Money, I purchased a copy online but they sent the North American version and I have been waiting 3 weeks for the correct version but now they say they cannot supply it. I have given up buying the Australian version of MS Money as I think I can only download stock prices from the Australian stock exchange whereas I need fund prices which are not available to download I have therefore created another Money file (Aus Money.mny) using my UK version of MS Money which only has Australian investment and so it reports in AUS$, it's easy to switch between the UK and Australian files I will manually update fund prices once a week, there are numerous web sites I can set up a portfolio to easily get prices. If anyone uses the Australian version of Money can they verify that fund prices cannot be updated online? That is probably not going to work, unfortunately. The problem that> The UK version I have is 2005 and the latest version they sell in Australia > is 2005. I expect is that each is going to try to be using the same registry keys. If they were from different years, then I expect it would work. - quote - > I will post back how it works out. > "Steve" wrote: > > I do not recommend installing both at a time but it will work just make sure > > seperate directories like Chris informed you and make sure when you close > > out of one to wait about 5 minutes before opening another > > Steve > > "arc1950" <arc1950[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > > news ABB2C67-13BA-423A-AAFE-33B3A54A946E[at]microsoft.com...> > > I am a British national living in Australia. > > > > > I currently use MS Money purchased in the UK to monitor UK bank account > > > and > > > investment. | Thanks for replies. The UK version I have is 2005 and the latest version they sell in Australia is 2005. I have ordered an Australian version and I will see how it goes. I will obviously install in different directories but I am concerned how it will make entries in the Registry as they are both Money 2005. I will post back how it works out. | My experience with the US version is that you can do that, if different (major) version numbers. Take care to install them in separate directories. Back up your data files before playing with it. I suggest you do not attempt to open the same file with both versions, even if not opened concurrently. | I am a British national living in Australia. I currently use MS Money purchased in the UK to monitor UK bank account and investment. The base currency is British pound. I want to install a 2nd copy of MS Money purchased in Australia to monitor Australian investment in the base currency of Australian dollar. Also the Australian version will give me access to Australian share and fund prices. I want reporting to show my investments in base currencies, when I try entering Australian investments into my UK version of Money when I produce a report it converts values to British pounds Is it possible to install 2 copies of MS Money on one computer? |
