It will not allow you to do anything in this case in order to sign in with
passport the date and time of your computer have to be correct but in order
to run the trial edition to do the update the data and time must be set for
2004 you are going to have to upgrade if you want to use money on the new
machine

Nope.

According to the MSKB, the download is no longer available.

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/889930/.

But there may be another path. See the workaround in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913108/en-us. Assuming that download is
still available, that'd be the M04 trial. It *should* (can't say for sure)
license if you login to Passport inside Money (use any data file, even a
File|New or the sample file). Getting the multimedia files may be difficult.

Ebay probably has somebody trying to sell an M04.

Next time, buy the retail CD or, worst case, burn a CD of the download.

move the software application (or a newer "free upgrade" version) to my new
computer, but i purchased Money-2004 on the internet and only have a CD for
