| Are you sure they really aren't there? MS made the strange decision to call the Money application files, System Files (not even hidden files), so they will not appear even if you have your Windows Explorer set show Hidden Files and Folders. Under Tools > Folder Options > View > Advanced settings, uncheck the box Hide Protected Operating System Files (ignore the warning and click on Yes, you are sure you want to do this). Then your Money files should appear in the folder "<drive> :\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2006\MNYCoreFiles" OR, instead, you can find the files by right clicking on your MSMoney shortcut, and then on Properties > Shortcut tab > Find Target. Are they still missing? -- Peace, BobJ "Dag" <Dag[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5DB8703C-3D2F-4341-A8E7-16449B6D4116[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > The installation folder is there, but all the files are gone. | Sounds like the computer has Deep Freeze on it which will automatically bring the computer to an earlier date after every restart if you try and install anything else does the same thing occur? You can also try installing in a clean boot to do this go to start then run type in Msconfig and click ok at the top click startup and click disable all then choose services at the top check Hide all microsoft services and click disable all then click ok and restart after the restart install the software and try to restart again if it doesnt disappear it was something on your startup list. | I'm suspecting something like anti-virus ware or some such. Odd, indeed. I'd also think about watching really closely to see when it disappears. I don't recall anything similar coming up here. For this reason, I suspect it is something in your environment not something systemic to Money. Good Luck. Let us know what you find out. | Please define "Money is gone". It's not in the Start Programs menu? It's not at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2007\? What if you navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2007\ with Explorer and double click on the Sample.MNY sample data file? | I recently installed MS Money 2007 Premium on Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. I had an existing mny file from my old computer (also running 2007 premium), so I did not go through the 'create your accounts etc' steps when firing up the progam the first time. When I boot up my system now, Money is gone. I essentially have to install everytime I want to use it, which is insane. Ideas? |
