| Andreas, Are you sure you're not confusing DirectConnect with WebConnect. Assuming your reference to ING is ING Direct, they offer WebConnect only (see http://home.ingdirect.com/faqs/faqs....MicrosoftMoney ). As for HSBC USA, they will continue to support WebConnect after December 10, 2006. | ING managed to update their direct connect to add more question/answer pairs (color of car etc) to make it stronger and re-enabled direct connect. HSBC just can't be bothered. | That may be the *bank's* interpretation of regulatory requirements. Other interpretations may vary. That doesn't really matter, though. The end result is you don't get to download. Why does Wachovia still allow it? I suspect your bank simply chose not to bother. | I am an HSBC customer who wants to continue initiating payments via Money. I called the bank and they said I would no longer be able to initiate payments via Money because Microsoft Money does not have the multilayer security being required by regulators. Assuming this is correct, I expect other banks may also be taking similar measures. I am dissappointed that Microsoft and HSBC (and other banks) may not be collaborating to meet customers' (like me) and regulator's requirements. How do I address this issue to the proper person at Microsoft? rjb "johnbusc[at]hotmail.com" wrote: - quote - > excerpt from email today: > > Changes to [HSBC USA] Personal Internet Banking access > > On December 10, 2006, you will no longer be able to use the DirectConnect feature > > of Quicken and Money to connect to HSBC's Personal Internet Banking service. > > However, you can still download your HSBC transactions into your Quicken and > > Money software using the WebConnect feature. | I'm not their customer. But what the primary thing that HSBC offers for me would be their high interest money market account. The number of transactions in those accounts are low enough that I don't have a problem with entering them manually. But if this is a big issue for you, there are lots of competitors. Pick one who behaves the way you like.
