| That is normal behavior for QIF. QFX and OFX transactions have unique transaction identifiers. Money knows they've already been imported. QIF files do not have those identifiers. Hence, Money cannot determine if they're real duplicates or simply look-alike transactions. The only way around this is to download OFX or QFX statements from your web site, or download online statements using Money's update feature. (Others will say the best workaround is to not download at all.) QFX works okay for me from the one bank that produces them. They're different from OFX by a line or two in the header. If they don't import right for you, compare to an OFX download and edit the header lines where different. Google this group for QFX and you'll find references to the fix. -- Chris Cowles Gainesville, FL "Dave" <dave[at]maximagine.biz> wrote in message news:FFE2A05A-5B80-45E2-AF30-CD6DF2A11C09[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > I have just changed to a financial institution that provides on QIF format > files for downloading to Money 2007. | I have just changed to a financial institution that provides on QIF format files for downloading to Money 2007. Each transaction has only a D, T and P entry. Example below: D10/25/2006 T41.45 PCREDIT INTEREST ^ When I import the file for the first time, it lists all the transactions and then asks me to 'Accept' or 'Change' each as I'm used to doing. However, when I import the file again after having previously 'Accept'ed all the transactions, Money 2007 is again asking me to 'Accept' or 'Change' each transaction. It seems unable to recognise that this is a copy of a previously 'Accept'ed transaction, and automatically match it. So now, I have to re-accept ALL transactions everytime I re-import the file from my bank. This never used to happen with QFX files from my previous bank. Once I accepted them, they stayed 'Accept'ed and I didn't have to matc them again at the time of the next import. Is this normal for QIF files? Anyway around this? Thanks in advance. |
