| There are lots of ways to do it. The "best practices" way is maybe over the top for a two hour user of Money, but involves: - Creating an Investment Account, - Defining the Investment of type "CD/Savings Bond" (or similar, can't remember exactly) to describe the type of investment in question, and - Entering a transaction to buy one (or more)specific instances of the defined Investment in the Investment Account using a transfer of money from the account that funded buying the CD. (That assumes you don't already have the CD prior to the start of your Money data. If you bought the CD before the "starting" date you are using for capturing data in Money, there is an Investment Transaction type called Add Shares that would be appropriate.) Did you look up CD in help? We could walk you through all this, but you might be better off to do some reading in online help, maybe play around with it a little, and then come back with more specific and narrow question. You might also want to look in the Sample data file. It has some Investment stuff, but I can't say if it has a CD example specifically. | Hi; I am a brand new user of MS Money Deluxe for about 2 hours :-) With my bank, I have a checking acct, savings acct, visa card acct, overdraft acct, and a Certificate of Deposit. I can get the online updates for only the checking and savings acct. I rarely use their visa card or the overdraft so I can live with out theese. How do I add the CD to money? This seems like it should be fairly easy but I cant find anything on it. Thanks for any help. Pat |
