Try this: on the account list, for the wrong account right-click
where it says you have transactions to read, and choose to Delete
statement.

Re-download, and see if Money asks where the statement should go
this time.

Let us know how it goes.

In 1), what was the import error message?

no,

re: the old account:
1) when the institution field was blank, I was getting an import
error.
2) when I changed that field to another institution - not my bank-
(hoping that Money would now prompt me for an account), it still
imported into the old account.

Any way to force Money to prompt for an account name?

Thanks so much,
JR

The institution was blank for the "old account" and the import was
coming into that "old account" without asking? I would not expect
that.

Make the "old account" financial institution blank until Money asks
where the download should actually go. Specify the proper account.
Thereafter Money should remember the proper account.

Hi Cal,
Now I get a new error message: "A communication error occured. Please
try your call again. If you continue to have problems call your
financial institution's Online Services Customer Support."

So what I did was go back to the closed account and change the
financial institution name field from -blank- to MBNA-America. (I did
this because I didn't want to leave it blank but also didn't want to
use my bank's name)

However, I got the import to work but it still imports into the old
account. So I'm back to square one. Any advise?

Thanks again,
JR

Blank the financial institution in the settings for the "wrong"
account. Then Money will ask which account to download into when you
next download from the web.

Thanks, Cal.

But now I'm really up a creak. I did everything that the KB article
told me to do. And nothing worked. I tried to open a new account and
close the old one; however, my banks website still downloads to the old
one.

Does anyone know how change the download?

This shouldn't have happened to me.

Thanks again,
Jimmy

Probably not, but it is safe and easy; do it. Farther down in the
article are things that are more complex.

Thanks, Cal.

Before I left for work this morning, I did the "repair Money file."
However, I didn't do the Quick repair. I did the full repair. Should
this make a difference? (The full repair did not fix the problem)

I appreciate all your help,
Jimmy

Default Account Balances Fell Apart

Money 2005 - standard

Never had a problem with the balance column in my checking account
register.
All of the sudden, this morning, my running balances were way off.
Changed register view to "all dates"/"all transactions" and that fixed
the problem.
But the problem reoccurs when I switch the register view back to the
way it was.

In advance, I appreciate any and all help I can get with this issue.

Thanks,
Jimmy
