Yes to the uninstall/reinstall of M05. That should work fine. Others have
done similar without problems.

When you say you have a backup, I'm guessing it's one of:

[your filename].MNY file saved at the time and never upgraded. Just open it
with M05.

[your filename].MBF file made by M05. Don't "import" but do "restore" it
with M05.

[your filename].M14 file made when M06 upgraded your M05 data file. Rename
it [your filename].MNY and just open it with M05.
