Oh yeah, that's another reason. Ultrasoft hasn't released supportfor M07 yet on it's PalmOS based software. But I assume that's coming soon. |

Money is unusable to me for about 2 minutes after an online sync. -- __________________________________________________ ________________________________ Ed Hansberry (Please do *NOT* email me. | Yes, but at least I can still get ONLY ONE main bank the old way, and all others are manual. I don't disagree with this, but wasn't that feature introduced in> force to keeping my records on MSN. > Also praying for "what customers want" in M08. M05 with the use of Yodlee? |

| Same reasons I'm still running M05. To add: I REALLY don't like deceitful force to keeping my records on MSN. Also praying for "what customers want" in M08. | After having used Money 2007 (M07) for a couple of weeks, I have decided to stick to Money 2004 (M04). I'm posting my reasoning here for two purposes. First, so that others who are more familiar with M07 might suggest workarounds or fixes. Second, to share my experiences with others who might be contemplating a simlar decision. First things first. Here's why I didn't switch to Money 2006: * Joint accounts created a problem with Net Worth reports when doing direct transaction D/L's * S...L...O... I'd write the W but I'm pretty sure that M06 isn't finished with it yet. Both of these issues appear to be resolved in M07 but I'm still not upgrading from M04. Here's why: * After finishing a transaction DL from my FI's, I can't accept the new transactions for a long time without getting an error message: "You cannot perform this operation right now. There is an online operation in progress. Try again later." This causes M07 to be effectively a *LOT* slower than M04, even though much of its responsiveness is comparable to or faster than M04. It has taken as long as 15 minutes before I can actually accept downloads. This is a new problem that is entirely too frustrating to put up with for another year. * The license terms for "online services" in M07 say that they can expire at any time. Upgrading does not necessarily buy me any more time from my current "Sept 1, 2007" expiration in M04. Here are the features of M07 that I find compelling. I hope that the above issues will be addressed in M08 and that these features will remain: * Multiple backups (introduced in M06 I think) * Smaller file size * Ability to select multiple billpays at once and submit them at the same time. This can be approximated in M04 by going through each item and "saving as draft" and then submitting all at same time. But it's not the same. The new feature in M07 is very nice. * Shutdown of M07 is much faster than shutdown of M04. If I ask M07 to skip backup, it shuts down rather quickly. M04 takes a while. Some of this is an illusion as M07 still is running in the background. If I ran my trial of M07 longer, I'm sure that I could increase both of the above lists. Here's hoping for M08. |
