| Deluxe. Try a discount store like Sam's. You'll find it's pretty cheap. | If the credit card info from the bank doesn't include details such as payees, how could Money -- or any other program -- download it? Am I missing something? -- Michael Gordon "DavidSullivan" <DavidSullivan[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3538FB20-EEDF-4A4B-8E22-2937855C894F[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Thanks for your response but please explain. | What I'm saying is that the quality of the data downloaded by FIs--as it relates to filling in the data in a Money transaction--varies all over the field. It's not at all unusual for a given FI to have a different level/quality of data for, say, checking, vs. Visa. What I'm also saying is that MEss assumes that you really, really, want the data exactly the way the bank downloads it. Microsoft thinks this is **essentially** exactly the way an MEss user wants things. Money Deluxe and above provide more user control. They do not improve on the quality of the data downloaded by the FI. Perhaps any of the True Believers in this downloaded transaction stuff can improve this answer or will disagree with it. I don't download transaction data, in part because I see way too many reports that the data coming down, beyond amount and maybe date, is incomplete, incorrect, not applied to correct fields, etc. "DavidSullivan" <DavidSullivan[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3538FB20-EEDF-4A4B-8E22-2937855C894F[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Thanks for your response but please explain. | Thanks for your response but please explain. My checking accnts have the description for each transaction but my credit card don't. Are you saying this is intended behavior for MS Money Essentials? Is this documented anywhere? If so, what version would I need to use? | Newbie questions. Please help??? I've just installed Money Essentials and downloaded the data for my bank accounts. All the entries are correct. However, for my credit card the payee/category field is almost always blank. The only time I see an entry with the payee field filled in is when I made a payment or got are refund. Any ideas? How do I debug this, is there a way to see what my bank supplied to Money in the download? |
