What, maybe 10 minutes to move 40 transactions is too tedious?

There is the TransferOut to move entire investments between accounts
in one operation. While it has downsides, the downsides don't
include messing up your taxes. If you prefer to move the
transactions themselves, it is not that hard if you don't make it
criterion that you don't want to do that.

And what is this "re-introduce" thing you are talking about?

Default Moving Investment to a New Account

There are times when an investment must be moved to a new account.
Currently, if the user wants to maintain the transaction information, he must
move each transaction individually. When there are a large number of
transactions, this is especially tedious and prone to error. Microsoft
should re-introduce the option of moving entire investments between accounts.
This might be done either by a "drag and drop" or an investment action of
moving "FROM" one account "TO" another.
