Default Re: Capital Gains Estimator very buggy.

Thank you for your suggestions Cal.

I did both file repairs.

I have been afraid to switch to Money 2007 after reading all of the problems
people are encountering. I like your idea of trying it for a while on a
separate computer.

I suspect that your undo transfers idea is the answer. I love the ability
to transfer from one account to another with one simple action, but .... I
have found that transfers often end up biting me in the rear down the road a
ways (especially when changing accounting programs, or trying to remove old
information.)

I am in the process of trying to set up a duplicate Quicken account so that
I can have Quicken and Money check each others figures; so it will be a while
before I can get to your suggestions. I do believe you hit the nail on the
head though.

Thanks again,
Phil M

You might try the Money 2007 trial on the other computer.

Also, on repair, did you do both Quick and Standard level 2?

You might check the transaction history and consider what it would
take to replace any AddShares with Buy transactions.

If you had transferred from one account to another, consider undoing
the transfers, and instead change the details on the old account
from the old broker to the new.

Work with a copy or be prepared to restore a backup file in case you
want to undo something.

Default Capital Gains Estimator very buggy.

One of my accounts (Schwab) crashes the program when I run Capital Gains
Estimator. (I repaired my file and I tried it on another computer...still
crashed)Another account (Wachovia) has five lots in three different
securities that have an incorrect $0.00 cost basis. (The numbers are correct
in the Portfolio Manager; and they are correct when I sell the stocks and
check the Capital Gains Report.)
Also.... it would be nice if there was an easy way to print a list of open
(current) stock lots.

Thanks for listening,
Phil M
