| Slight clarification... All of my testing was done on the M04 Sample file. And whenever I converted that to M07, it always mangled the categories. But when I convereted my personal M04 file (the one that I use daily) it doesn't mangle the categories during conversion. | I discovered something interesting in Money 07. M07 didn't mangle the Food:* categories in my M04 file. And I don't know why. At first, I thought it might have been because I had Food:Snacks defined. But I tried converting the M04 file both with and without that category and M07 mangled both Food:Groceries and Food iningOut, while leaving Food:Snacks alone. So I went back to my M04 file and tried re-converting it to M07. It did not mangle those categories. Food:Groceries and Food iningOut both still exist, and the non-subcategories Dining Out and Groceries do not exist. I also thought it might have been that there were transactions in my M04 file and no transactions in the M04 sample file. But that wasn't the case - the sample file was loaded with transactions in those categories. I looked at the category setings in my M04 file and the M04 sample file. Both appear to be identical. I'm out of ideas as to what to do to determine when the M07 conversion will mangle these categories and it won't. Anyone have any ideas I should try? |
