| Are you using the Windows Live Toolbar with the MSN Money add-in? If so, then that's probably the problem. Verify by disabling the Toolbar and see if that stops the crash. Live is working on a fix. -Mark "Jeff M" <jamacq[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1160320068.443961.136250[at]h48g2000cwc.googlegroups.com... - quote - > After upgrading to the Deluxe Charts and posting here, I've begun > noting program crashes when using the Deluxe Charts. | After upgrading to the Deluxe Charts and posting here, I've begun noting program crashes when using the Deluxe Charts. Nothing else seems to cause a crash, but it seems that if I hover over certain areas of the deluxe charts, such as a dividend or buy, it will cause a crash. I've tried standard repair and although no broken records are found, it does seem to temporarily fix the problem. However, some time later after program use, I find the same problem coming back. I've searched the newsgroup for a similar problem and haven't found it. Anyone else having a similar problem? Jeff |

| Yeah, I stumbled onto a help page that had all sorts of ideas for making the advance charting work: IE Zone Security - Medium Add http://*.microsoft.com to the trusted sites list Make sure cookies are enabled Uninstall from Add/Remove programs Turned off all firewall/antivirus/spyware programs. And a whole bunch more which didn't apply to my situation (ie. I already have IE6 or higher) None of them worked. I'm stumped. | It seems that I must be having some kind of technical issue then, because when I get to the screen that tries to download the advanced charting functions, I get a box with a red X where it says to look for a chart. I've tried a number of times but nothing happens, and the "I need more help" link gives me a window that says "Problem occured. Please try again." This happen in Money 07 and on the Moneycentral website. |

This is the function that doesn't work. You can click on the display> portfolio view to include "chart". When you do this, a small icon will > display in the chart column for each investment in your portfolio > Manager. But you get a scrawny single line for the historical chart and current days prices chart. In the "supercharged or whatever" upgrade you could install in M06, you got a larger charts with darker lines and a line across the bottom with bar graphs showing volumes. Dividends if any appeared as little red triangles on the hisotircal chart. A similar feature they killed in M06 was the ability to click on an investment on the home page or in the portfolio view and get taken to a page where you could see the price history for the year and compare the investment performance to any other in your profolio. This was done within Mony and was not a screen from MSN. THAT PART STILL WORKS in 06 and 07. What disappeared in 06 and was not restored in 07 was a drop down menu on the page in the upper left that enabled you to select any investment for the base investment to compare to. Basically you can no longer that this function to work for closed investments unless you add to them watch lists in your portfolio. -- Howard |

| The advanced charts work fine with my version of Money 07 Deluxe. - quote - the MSN toolbox. Now open Money 2007 and from within the portfolio manager there are several ways to see Deluxe charts of your investments. 1. You can click on "Research Online" in the left pane and then enter a stock symbol and then click on "charts" in the new left pane. 2. Much better way...within Money Porfolio Manager, customize your portfolio view to include "chart". When you do this, a small icon will display in the chart column for each investment in your portfolio Manager. You can then click on this chart and immediately be taken to the deluxe msn charts for the given investment. The other thing I noticed was that using the deluxe charts solves the problem others have reported where your buys and sells don't show up correctly. I hope this helps. | That's so weird. I've never heard of a company taking a really nice feature out of a product and replacing it with crap. Well, maybe not crap, but not nearly as good as the old one. | At the bottom of the chart page (under all the options) there is a link to "Supercharge your charts" by upgrading to the MSN Investment Toolbox. It looks like a free upgrade. I can't see to get it to download or something though so I can't tell you for sure. I would like the old charts back too. | One of the things I can't get to work in M07 Premium is the advanced investment charting. This the screen you get when you click on the chart for a particular investment in the Portfolio view. It bascially takes you to Investment Home and shows a large chart for the investment you licked on. In M06 you could download an Advanced Chart function from MSN that gave you larger/better charts with more information such as volume and dividends. In M07 the advanced charts just don't work. Any solutions for this. -- Howard |
