| "especially since you did not use Money 2006 as it was intended. " Well, since you weren't too specific, I can assume you watched my every move as I was using it. How else would you know how I was using it ? I only mentioned ONE feature. Good grief. Yes, I know there is a LOT more to it than that, but that was the thing most stands out in my mind. As I recall, doing an update (direct connected to my 401k manager), it would not reconcile correctly and my actual balances would never be correct. Are you saying I will have to tolerate that ? Or just resign myself to keying them manually, as others have suggested ? I guess we could ust agree all software is buggy, so I should just get over it. OK, I am over it. If you have Money 2006 there is no reason to spend more money to buy Money 2007, especially since you did not use Money 2006 as it was intended. Neither Quicken or Money can really help you unless YOU decide you really want to use the program. If you do, you need to spend some time understanding what the program does and doesn't do and how it might help. Good luck. Steve |

| Don't know what that means. I enter transactions by hand. All is more-or-less well. The 401k manager has been more-or-less defective for almost a decade. I don't use it to reconcile. (It might have been fixed by now--haven't tried it. My way--summary account update--works better anyway.) | I purchased Money 2006 a year or so ago, but abandoned it over 401k issues. I have not used any kind of money manager since then (bad me), and am ready to take another swing at it, so trying to decide between upgrading Money or giving Quickbooks a try. As I recall it could not reconcile all line item types from my 401k manager (Hewitt). I remember this being a generalized issue, with lots of poeple complaining about the same thing. Has this been addressed in Money 2007 ? Anyone still having trouble with 401k downloads into Money 2007 ? Are there any other pervasive issues that are waiting to bite me if I upgrade ? Thanks, Scott |
