When you get the transactions straightened out, I suggest exporting them
into .qif files, one for each account, then import them back into a new .mny
file which should be clean and vastly smaller. The export and import
functions are right in Money and work very well.

I've only been using MsM2003 for three days. I have two accounts (savings &
checking). I just now noticed the .mny file size after having deleted and
recreated the checking account about four times. Is this what is making the
..mny file get so large ? Is there a way to compact the .mny file ?

Background on why I'm deleting and recreating the checking account :

I've been tinkering with downloaded statements from the bank website trying
to massage the .csv contents in order to get the payee field correct. After
fixing the checking account .csv contents I export from Excel to a .qif using
the Xl2Qif tool.

Because of a few missteps with the date format I've had to delete and
recreate the checking account in MsM2003 ... because there is no way to
delete transactions (510 of them) other than one by one.
