You might also consider buying a retail version. Sams and Costco and probably others have Money with a DVD (or CD maybe) and without rebates. |

I still don't understand why the password wasn't working before, but is now. But heck, spending $29.99 (after rebate) on the new product is cheaper than having to buy some sort of password cracking software, or pay MS for tech support. Thanks! |

Copy your current Money file to a different name, such as gaga07.mny, and let Money 2007 convert that copy. Stay alert during install to make sure the trial does not uninstall your Money version. Expect a radio button where you will need to change from the default. You should be able to run both versions, one at a time. If you decide to stay with the older version of Money, after trying 2007, I suggest you do not uninstall the trial unless you are prepared to reinstall the older version. That file association thing is the thing that routes a QIF or OFX to the given version of Money when you click on such a file. |

| I am on Microsoft Money 2005 and have had the .NET password enabled for sometime. Last month when trying to login (mind you the "save password" box has been checked for eternity) I kept getting a message that either my e-mail and/or password were incorrect. I went so far as to change/update my password on the .NET site and still could not open my file. I was able to restore my file from a backup (which accepted the pre-filled password) and keep working. However, this morning I just tried logging in again and same problem. However, when I try to restore the backup, it's not accepting my pre-filled password (or any other password). I am at a loss. Do you think upgrading to 2007 and trying to import the file will work - or will that block me with a password error as well?? |
