Can you post the names of the files? If you use a command window,> further. The only options are OK or Cancel. If you cancel, it stops the > restore all together. you can type the command "dir *.mbf" without the quotes. At least check to make sure the names are identical other than the 1, 2 and 3. Are you sure you have the matching set of files? I have tried that process, but not lately. |

| another kludge and I'm not sure it would work -- rename/reassign your d: drive (where the cd is) to a: or b: . | I tried saving it to a folder on my hard drive too, but it still looks at the 3 files separately & prompts me to insert the next diskette. Is there any way to combine the d1.mbf, d2.mbf & d3.mbf files into one file, not just one folder? I also tried saving them to 3 individual CD's, but the program will only prompt for diskettes, not CD's.... | It restores the d1.mbf & then prompts for the 2nd diskette, when choose OK, it does not let me pick the d2.mbf & it does not let me pick or change the location to where the restored data goes. Copying to the hard drive should work too. I don't think it would> of the three files on three separate CDs. matter if the files are marked as read-only after copying from the CD, but if you have a problem, then you could mark the three files that you copy to the hard drive as not right protected and try again. (right click in WE, and choose Properties) |

In WE, double-click the *d1.mbf file. That should launch Money and start the restore. When Money prompts for the next diskette, click OK. You will have a chance to change the location or filename for where the restored data will go. Since this is a different computer, it is especially good to browse to a location. The old location may not even exist. |

| My PC crashed and I had backed up my Money 2001 program on 3 floppy disks prior to the crash...now that I have a new PC, I am trying to restore my files. The problem is that I no longer have a floppy drive & had to copy my backup to a CD. The files transferred as 3 separate files & the restore function only allows me to pick one of the 3 files on the CD, not all. After I pick the first file, it asks me to insert my next floppy... Any suggestions on how to restore my backup? or how to convert the 3 files to one file on the CD? Thanks! |
