Jumping in late - I had a similar problem with corruption within 06 which
was fixed by moving to 07

Understandable. You might try quick (within Money) and then level 1
before trying to do the level 2. You could try the Money 2007 trial
-- perhaps on a different computer. Perhaps the salv.exe on that
version would work for you, and its salv.exe results could still be
used on Money 2006. If you decide to install Money 2007 trial on the
same computer, there are considerations.

You could try restoring an older backup to a different filename. See
how far back the problem goes. If you don't have backups that go
back farther, consider keeping more backups.

You could consider QIF export/import to a new file. That is drastic,
and you lose a lot in the process. You get a really clean file tho.

Thanks. Tried that and it still broke. Prob doesn't make a difference, but I
have another folder "MNYCoreFiles.NEW.{9D6EAA4F-27B2-4407-AC72-4BBD2FCB6ED1}"
there. No Salv.exe though.

I was able to repair sample.mny successfully. I already tried uninstalling
and reinstalling Money. It's gotta be something with my file. I'm worried.

You also might try running salv.exe on your Money file with Money
closed. That should do the same thing fix-wise, but perhaps it would
not have that crash behavior. Salv.exe would typically be in
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money 2006\MNYCoreFiles" which is a
hidden folder.

You could also try the standard repair on Sample.mny. If you saw a
problem there, I would reinstall Money.

I will, but it's not so much I don't know how to test bill payments, but
salvage crashes that I'm concerned about. I went back a month on my file and
it still does.

Yes.

I understand that you are unsure how to test bill payments. I don't
know how to test bill payments.

You probably should contact Microsoft for help.

I would consider restoring a suitable backup by double-clicking a
backup in Windows Explorer while Money is closed.

Keep an extra copy of backups on a USB Flash drive.

Default Money Repair level 2 crashes

Money 2006 Deluxe was hanging up. I performed a quick repair = fine, but
didn't solve the problem. Level2 repair and it crashes and sends details to
MS. I uninstalled and reinstalled Money. No change.

It crashed during sending payments 2x. By crash, I mean that it hung up.
clicking on anything just beeps. Waiting an hour doesn't help. Had to kill
the program. The payments 'seem' to have gone though.

Any ideas?
