| Well, in M2002 when I download transactions the register shows the new transactions in bold and when you click on them and the transaction becomes highlighted there is an Accept and a Change button on the lower right side. I don't remember what M2006 looks like but it is probably similar. It is a little difficult to explain this stuff in writing but you will see how it works when you try it. You might have to download another transaction so you can see exactly how this procedure works. | If I understand what you are doing, here is the solution. I assume that you downloaded transactions from your checking and savings account and both accounts now reflect the $100 transaction. Each transaction should have an E in the cleared column in both Money registers and be highlighted in bold. Do not click Accept. If you have not done so yet, manually enter a transfer transaction from the checking account to the savings account for the same $100 amount. This will create a duplicate entry in both the checking and savings acct. Then click Change on the downloaded transaction in the checking account. Scroll down the list of transactions in the box that pops up and check the transaction that you just entered manually. This is how you merge the two duplicate transactions and "teach" Money how to automatically match them in the future. Click done and Money will merge the duplicates and your registers in both accounts will now show the merged transactions. Then click Accept and a single transfer transaction will appear in both the checking and savings account. If these transfers are recurring Money will learn to match them in the future and you can make it easier by putting the recurring deposit in Bills and Deposits. After Money learns the match it will automatically merge the downloaded transactions with the transaction in Bills and Deposits or manually entered transactions. All you have to do then is click Accept on the merged transaction after you download. | Hi How to match the transactions especially when moving money from one account to another. Here's an example, I have moved $100 from the Savings account to checking account, and Money has succesfully updated to retrieve these transactions. But, when I make the transaction in the Checking Account as a Transfer from the Savings Account, Money automatically adds a new transaction in the Savings Account. Now there will be two transactions for $100 in the Savings account, how do I match these two transactions? thanks Jay |
