| Manual downloads isn't much of a problem, Jason -- and actually can have some advantages. -- Michael Gordon MVP "Jason Reeves" <JasonReeves[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:71F1BBB1-8A41-4A25-A484-71D78D8AE2C8[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > My bank (a credit union) also updated their system recently and no longer > supports MS Money or Quicken automatically. | My bank (a credit union) also updated their system recently and no longer supports MS Money or Quicken automatically. What keeps me with them is that they have a branch in my office building, so it is very convenient during the day to take care of financial matters, go to the ATM , etc. I never used that feature before, but I was thinking about it before they did this "upgrade." | Yes, I saw that recently with a merger. I waited a while and -- eventually --moved to a different bank. -- Michael Gordon MVP "MartyNg" <MartyNg[at]gmail.com> wrote in message news:1158786976.312362.255520[at]b28g2000cwb.googlegroups.com... - quote - > I'm using Microsoft Money 2006 for a while, and all of my > checking/savings accounts from my primary bank have updated > automatically. That's usually not too hard, except that you need to handle the> BACKWARDS technologically! I'm almost tempted to take all of my money > elsewhere! autopay of bills that you now have debiting from your old account. Having some overlap in time for the two accounts usually works best. |

Yes, I have seen banks go backwards. And I took my money and went to a bank> checking/savings accounts from my primary bank have updated > automatically. If you let any bank reduce your service and get away with it, they will think they can pull that on you in the future as well. Call them and ask to speak to the bank manager. Tell him/her that you will change banks unless they restore support for direct downloads to Money. If they refuse, tell the manager to have his staff send you a check for the balance of your account and put it in a better bank. Personally I don't care about or even want auto updating of my accounts but my main bank (Citibank) still supports direct downloads to Money 2002 (and all later versions). All other banks I use support one click activestatement (OFX) downloads from the bank's website to Money 2002 and I am perfectly happy with that. You don't have to import the downloaded data into Money, it happens automatically. Regards Bill Wood |

| I'm using Microsoft Money 2006 for a while, and all of my checking/savings accounts from my primary bank have updated automatically. However, the bank recently updated it's online banking system, and at the same time broken the compatibility with Money. I spoke with customer support and they said that statements must now be downloaded and manually imported into Money! I was just beginning to truly get the hang of Money and a lot of its features, and now my bank goes and disables the compatibility! I have tried to switch to Quicken, but that doesn't work either. I'm sure I can figure out how to manually import all of my accounts, but that will be a pain after having automatic updates for so long! I guess I just wanted to vent/ask - Have you guys ever seen a bank go BACKWARDS technologically! I'm almost tempted to take all of my money elsewhere! |
