I too am using Microsoft Money 2005, and have just begun experiencing this
problem. Some Sell transactions from 2004 in various investment accounts have
somehow been flipped to Purchases, resulting in large negative cash balances.
I went through fixing all of these (by deleting the transactions and
re-entering), but it keeps recurring.

This isn't on new transactions entered, it just seems to randomly be
happening to old transactions - mostly from 2004. It especially seems to
happen on large dollar sell transactions (e.g. ones where I am closing out a
position in an account).

Is this a known problem?

Hi,

I am using Money 2005, and I have one persisting problems with one
investment account. All of my "sell transaction" were recorded as
"payment", and deducted from associated cash account. Now it shows -$80,000
in this cash account while I actually have $2,000 in it.

I have changed the transaction type from "sell" to "buy" to all my "sell"
transactions, then changed them back to "sell" again. It seemed to correct
the problem at the moment, until I open the same Money file again.

Anyone here encounter this type of strange problem?
