You're getting to be too predictable, Bill -- not only did we all know this
was coming, but we're now speculating on how long it would take you to post
it.............

Thoughts? And you wonder why I am still using M2002?

Thoughts? And you wonder why I am still using M2002?

Have fun!

I think I'm losing my mind. Writing that post involved opening four or five
different files, some of them multiple times, on two machines and took over
an hour. I just went back into the real data file, again, and all seems to
have somehow magically regained its sanity.

I'd really love to put a team together to do a Black Hat, Tiger Team, IV&V
style, requirements, design, and code review of the internals of this thing.
I suspect it's not a "best practices" example of modern object oriented
software designed for reliability and integrity.

Default M07 Dlx Porfolio Manager views go missing?!?

All of a sudden most or none of my views show what they should. First it was
Standard view working and all the rest blank. Then all views had this
message "You currently do not have any investment accounts selected. Click
the link below to see your accounts. See your accounts." Now the Standard
view has a blue bar at the top, lots of lines and a scroll bar that seems
about right, a blue bar with today's total change, market value, and YTD
return, all with sane values, but no data on the lines. Changing to, say,
Return Calculations, removes the lines and the scroll bar, but still shows
the blue lines at the top and bottom and the totals at the bottom.

As you might expect, clicking the link indicates that all open investment
accounts are selected.

Reset to default from Change portfolio view> Customize any view... solves
nothing. (But it seemed to eliminate the "do not have any investment
accounts selected" message. Right up until I re-opened the file. Then that
came back. Then I played with Change portfolio view> Show closed positions
and now Standard view is sane, in either state of the toggle. No other view
is aided by this.)

Changing the accounts selected in the view customization dialog does
nothing.

Reverting to a 9/1 backup file gets the standard view back, but the others
are lost in the ozone as well.

Reverting to an 8/15 file seems about the same.

I'm reasonably certain I spot-checked alternate views before deciding (what
was I thinking?) to change to M07.

Different views with different group bys get different collections of h/v
scroll bars, blue boxes, column headers, "Total Portfolio Value", etc. but
only Standard view is showing data in the middle of the control where it's
supposed to go. When it is, that is.

I haven't tried file repair or flushing IE cache or re-registering DLLs or
incantations and dances over the keyboard just yet. I did try the M07 copy
on the IE6 laptop (as opposed to the IE7RC2 desktop cited above) to no
avail. I haven't tried the sample file to see how Woodgrove Investments is
doing...

Anybody got any thoughts? Anybody else seeing anything similar?
