BTW, how did you "identify" it this way?

Have you tried category Transfer:[name of 401k cash account]?

Perhaps I'm doing it wrong. In the income section, I identified one of the
pre-tax deductions as a 401K contribution, but I did not see any way to
associate it with my 401K account register. I am using Advanced everything,
but I guess I didn't see how to do that association.

Mine goes fine. (Or went fine when I was doing my extended M06 trial.)

More details please. Do you have the 401k investment cash account setup? Are
you using Advanced Registers? How are you trying to get the 401k deduction
to go into your 401k account from your paycheck?

Default 401K contributions

When I try to set up my paycheck as gross income minus deductions, I can't
get the 401K deduction to go into my 401K account in MM06. Has anybody else
dealt with this one? TIA
