| I'm going in through the Account List : Investment Accounts path as opposed to the My Portfolio view. After selecting the Investment account to review (which lists the various funds in the selected investment) I can click on Update Prices : Update Manually. This then allows me up select an investment fund, put in the date of market price update, enter the latest price and hit the update button. That is the only value that I am changing, not the total value. This action accurately changes the total at the bottom of the Investment display but the price change activity is not shown - just the original entries with their original prices. I see the options you describe but from within the Account List : Investment Accounts : Investment path would like to see something listing the statement-driven entries that I have put in. The graphs that come up tend to show how the fund has been performing in general (nothing wrong with that) but I just want to see something listing the market price increase activity that I have been entering each month. In the Portfolio, there is an AsOf date that you could change to get the prices as of a given date. If you right-click an entry, you can choose PriceHistory to get a graph. Click UpdatePrices-> UpdatePricesManually as you should do to enter a price for a security (assuming you know the recent price per share each month), then you can also see a small table of existing price data. In addition, there are reports that can be of potential use to you. Among them, the Reports-> Investments-> PriceHistory could be useful. There are others you can explore. For each, you can click Customize and change the various factors. For example, in the PriceHistory report, Customize-> Chart and changing from Line to Report (then Apply) will change from a graph to a table. There is no way to have the price data over time displayed as line items in the register or Portfolio views. There is no report that I know of that will list price change entries interspersed with Buys and Sells. - quote - > Thanks - David > Miller > "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: > > In microsoft.public.money, spiggman wrote: > > > > I have been going through all my unentered statements and manually updating > > > the prices for my mutual funds in Money 2004. | I have no problem with buying shares. This is for my mutual funds. I go to my Account List and then click on the Investment Account that I want to work on. Say on 1/1/06 I buy into a mutual fund with 100 shares in ABC Inc. at $10. On 2/1/06 my statement says the 100 shares are now worth $12. I can manually update the price increase and the total at the bottom of the display now shows the total as $1200. The line showing the investment data still shows the original statement date of 1/1/06 with 100 shares at $10 but I'm not seeing a new line of data beneath dated 2/1/06 it reflecting the 'activity' (price increase) on that statement. At 1st look it it seems as if the math is wrong as 100 * 10 isn't $1200. Even if I elect to display all transaction details I don't see the history. I would like to see new dated lines of data showing the 'activity' on the statements that I entered. Thanks - David Miller "Cal Learner-- MVP" wrote: - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, spiggman wrote: > > I have been going through all my unentered statements and manually updating > > the prices for my mutual funds in Money 2004. Suppose your 200 shares are worth $12 per share today for a total of $2400. What is it that you want to see that you don't now see? |

| I have been going through all my unentered statements and manually updating the prices for my mutual funds in Money 2004. Money has been correctly recording the changes & shows the latest total for all investments - all well and good. The only activity detail I see, however, is the original quantity and prices which obviously doesn't match the total. What do I so that I can see correctly dated monthly entries that reflect the adjustments to the fund prices? I want to see line items that reflect the changes in the same way as if I had been buying or selling shares with their impact on the total. |
